What to Expect

We are overjoyed that you are considering worshipping the Lord with us at Calvary Chapel. We know that going to a new place can20150614_104528[1] be unsettling, so we hope to give you an understanding of what to expect on your visit.

We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God. Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the exposition of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept. (Isaiah 28:10 NKJV, Nehemiah 8:3). These studies lay the foundation of Sound Biblical Doctrine (Titus 1:9, 2:1) and protect us against distracting imposters (Galatians 1:6-7, 2 Timothy 4:2-3). There are bibles available for those who may need one, in a bookcase located in the back of the Sanctuary.

Our services in the Sanctuary are designed to teach the Bible and to Worship God in an atmosphere hopefully free of distractions so people can focus on the Lord. God speaks to us through His still, small voice; we hope to keep the Sanctuary focused where we can listen for Him (1 Kings 19:11-12, Psalm 46:10).

We are blessed with teachers who are called and gifted to teach children. These volunteers have passed background checks and ca20150614_104134[2]n provide Children’s Church and Nursery for your family in a loving and safe atmosphere. The biblical teaching provided there is designed to help children understand the Gospel and hide God’s Word in their hearts on their level, in a relatable way they can understand and sometimes memorize. If you are a nursing mother, you are welcome to relax and nurse your little one in the Nursery.

I hope we satisfied some of your curiosities. Please come and allow God’s Word, the Worship and the Fellowship with the Saints (other believers) inspire and equip you.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ– from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV

Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only the over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.

We believe:

…that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

We believe:

…worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

We believe:

…worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.

We believe:

…worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis on the exposition of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept so that God might instruct us how He should be worshiped.

We believe:

…worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
