Serve

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.  1 John 3:18

If you love the Lord and this body and have a desire to serve – there is a place for you to serve here.  There is much that needs to be done, and we welcome your service.  Prayerfully consider a faithful commitment to one or more of the ministries listed below.

CALVARY CHAPEL KIDS

We have opportunities for four to eight Children’s Church Teachers, and eight Teacher’s Assistants.  Training, curriculum, and instruction are provided and available online at www.calvarycurriculum.com.  Requirements for service: a personal and growing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, six months attendance at Calvary Chapel of Asheville, and the fingerprinting and background check required for the protection of the children.  Missed services are recorded and will be available to listen to online.  Contact John Bare.

NURSERY

There are up to sixteen openings to love and care for the infants and toddlers in our fellowship.  Requirements for service: a personal and growing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, six months attendance at Calvary Chapel, along with fingerprinting and background check required for the protection of the children.  Missed services are recorded and will be available to listen to online.  Contact John Bare.

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS

If you have a heart for ministry with teens and young adults there is need for at least two Youth Ministry Assistant Leaders.  Assistant Leaders would be present to council and supervise the youth every other Friday evening.  Contact church for youth schedule.

CALVARY FOOD MINISTRY

We welcome volunteers to distribute food, pray with recipients, and/or help to pack grocery boxes.  Packing on Monday mornings and distribution on Wednesday mornings.  See the CFM Page for more information.  Contact John Hall.

CALVARY CAFE

We could use three or four assistants to serve coffee and snacks every Sunday morning.  Anyone gifted in hospitality is welcome to help in keeping the cafe clean, stocked, making coffee and tea, arranging snack displays, and clean-up and prep for the next service. Contact Cheryl Robinson or Debi Wiest.

USHERS

There are several openings for men who would like to serve in Ushering.  An Usher would be on hand to help seat people when seating is scarce, passing the communion plates, handing out literature or Bibles during a service, helping with set-up and take down of chairs during events, handling security issues when they arise, helping with light switching when needed, climate control, etc.  Contact John Bare.

GREETERS

Smiling faces and welcoming hearts are desired to help greet attendees.  Greeters would need to arrive early and stay at the doors to welcome, hand out bulletins, provide information about children’s classes and other concerns, handle sign-up sheets,  etc.

HOSPITALITY

We could use many servants – women especially – who would be willing to be called upon to help with meals and events.  Preparing attractive table settings and helping with plans for potluck events, showers, funeral dinners, and other events.  Individuals who would be willing to coordinate and/or provide meals for those who are sick or in need.  Hosts willing to open their homes to special guests – such as visiting speakers or missionaries for overnight stays.  Contact Cheryl Robinson.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Encouragement is needed for those who are sick and housebound, to make phone calls, to send notes, and to check-in on those who are out of fellowship.  A Coordinator is needed for this ministry.

HOUSEKEEPING

Four teams of at least two are needed to do housekeeping rotation one week a month. See Cindy Hadorn

GROUNDS & MAINTENANCE

Two to Four men are needed to keep grass and weeds cut at our interim location and the future campus.  Two men are also needed to be called upon for light building maintenance.  Contact John Bare.
